Cocoa Mulch Shells

Holds Moisture: Holds moisture in the ground by reducing transpiration reducing the need for watering.
Retards weed growth: Forms a porous barrier by interlocking to suppress weed growth thus leaving valuable nutrients for your plants.
Adds nutrients to soil: Cocoa shells add nitrogen, phosphate and potash. Other mulch has a tendency to rob the soil of nutrients depriving your plants.
Great coverage: The average bag, 2 cubic feet, weighs about 25 pounds and will cover 22-24 square feet at a depth of 1 inch. Loosens soil: Can be worked into the soil
as a conditioner to help retain moisture as well as breaking down heavy soils such as clay.
Easy Maintenance: Simply add a thin layer in the spring as a topping to gardens that have an existing layer of cocoa shell mulch.
Deters pests: The texture of cocoa shell mulch serves as a natural deterrent to slugs & snails plus it is uncomfortable for most small animals to walk on.
Low acidity: Cocoa shell mulch is delicate enough to use in new flower beds, on new roses and any sensitive plant.
100% Organic: Cocoa shells only, nothing added.
Weed seed free: Cocoa beans are roasted which removes the shells thus killing any weed seeds that might have been mixed with the cocoa beans.
Insulates roots: Acts as a thermal blanket between the soil and the environment during alternating freezing and thawing in the winter and spring as well as insulating from heat heat in the summer. Works well to insulate rose roots through the winter.
Darker, larger shell: State of the art equipment has the longest roasting time in the industry. The long roasting time produces a darker, rich looking larger shell that is more attractive.
Gets darker with age: Unlike most other mulch products, cocoa shell mulch does not fade in the sun. They actually turn a darker, richer colour.
Chocolate aroma: This is 100% cocoa shell mulch, therefore it has a wonderful chocolate aroma.
Lower moisture content: Lower moisture content means drier product in the bag, which is accomplished by roasting the beans longer.
Highest quality bag (4mm): The bag is 4mm thick to prevent broken bags during handling, loading, shipping, unloading and storage.
Better pallet packaging: The bags are clean, sturdy food grade pallets and shrink wrapped in UV plastic, enclosed in a heavy duty protective cover and shrink wrapped a second time to help prevent damage during shipping.
65 bags per pallet: We ship 65 bags per pallet or 1430 bags per semi..
Full 2 cubic feet per bag: The bag holds a full 2 cubic feet of cocoa shells. Other brands of cocoa shells may contain 10-15% less product and are noticeably smaller in size, therefore providing the best value

1. Palleted Bags: Each Pallet contains 65 bags, with each bag holding 56 litres (or 2 cubic feet)

1 pallet = $6.00/bag
2-3 pallets = $5.62/ bag
4-5 pallets = $5.30/bag
6 + pallets = $4.97/bag
22 pallets (full truck load) = $4.35/bag

2. Super Sacks hold 2.6 cubic yards of mulch or approx. 1,000 lbs

*note: for a super sack order customers must have a forklift – 44 sacks can fit in a full truck load (double stacked)

Payment Schedule: For small orders, all we require is a postdated cheque for net 30 upon delivery. For larger orders, we request a credit application with payment terms of 1% 15, net 30.
